🌿 Welcome to the Tydd St Mary Playing Field Committee

Tydd St Mary may be a small village, but our community spirit is anything but. The Playing Field Committee is made up of a dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to create events, activities, and improvements that bring people together and make our village an even better place to live.

Despite our size, we consistently punch above our weight. Our longest‑running and much‑loved event is the annual Tydd Car Rally, originally brought to life by long‑standing resident and committee member Allen Smith. This tradition continues to draw visitors from across the area and remains a highlight of the village calendar.

In recent years, we’ve expanded our programme with new events designed to appeal to all ages. Picnic in the Park has quickly become a favourite, offering families a relaxed day of music, food, and community fun, and last year we even introduced the Tydd St Mary Dog Show. Last year we also introduced our first Outdoor Cinema Night, which was a huge success. Thanks to the fantastic turnout and positive feedback, we’re delighted to be hosting two screenings this year:

• Friday 4th September – Children’s Movie Night

• Saturday 5th September – Adults’ Movie Night

These events are only possible thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and the support of residents who attend, donate, and cheer us on.

We are always looking for new committee members and volunteers who want to help shape the future of our village spaces and events. If you’re passionate about community life and would like to get involved, please speak to one of our committee members or keep an eye out for upcoming meeting dates organised by our wonderful Chair, Annette Magnus.

Together, we continue to make Tydd St Mary a vibrant, welcoming, and thriving place for everyone.
